Weekend Baking | Sunday Crumble

One of my favourite things to make on a Sunday is a crumble, not only are they so easy to make but you can change it up depending on what you feel like that day. My current go-to flavours are apple, blackberry and cinnamon but you can use whatever fruit you have, or if you're feeling indulgent, you can check out my Toffee Apple Crumble recipe! At the moment, I'm really trying hard to cut down on refined sugar so this recipe doesn't contain any at all but some sweetness is definitely still required, especially if you are using cooking apples. Read on to check out the recipe...

You Will Need
2 Large Cooking Apples (chopped into slices or chunks)
75g of Blackberries
2tbsps of Honey (or Maple Syrup)
100g of Plain Flour
50g of Unsalted Butter
2tbps of Ground Cinnamon

To Make
1) In a saucepan, combine the apple slices, blackberries and honey and cover in water. Heat at a low temperature for around 20 minutes or until the mixture becomes thick.
2) In a mixing bowl, add the flour, butter and cinnamon and rub together until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
3) Take your ramekins and add the fruit mixture and top with your crumble.
4) Bake at 180° for around 35-45 minutes or until golden brown.

Have you been baking this week?

  29. This actually looks amazing. The only problem is that I can't have the lactose in butter and stuff but I don't think it would be too hard to pick up alternatives if I did want to make this. I'm definitely considering it as well, it looks amazing!
