Halloween DIY | Painted Pumpkin

I've never done any Halloween crafts, bar inexpertly hacking up a few pumpkins, and so this year I thought I would give it a go. I'm sadly a bit too old to go all out but I saw some classy crafts online and decided to try it! There are some amazing crafters out there but I've stuck to simple and effective! Read on to find out how I got on...

You Will Need
1 Pumpkin (I used a medium size)
White Paint
Stand (optional)

To Make
1) Wash and thoroughly dry the pumpkin then lay out on some newspaper and set on a stand. I used the top of a candle tin for mine
2) Apply sealer to the surface (you don't have to do this but it ensures that the paint will apply more smoothly)
3) Paint the pumpkin and leave to dry. Re-paint if necessary

What I Eat In A Day | Autumn

I love making these blog posts and realised that I hadn't done one in a while! As the weather has been getting colder, I've been trying to make an effort with what I'm eating as I really don't want to get ill. I haven't really experimented too much yet and pretty much have eaten variations of the food below for the past week! Read on to check out what I eat in a day...

Breakfast - Banana Pancakes
No surprise here, I've been making these pancakes a lot recently! I was going on a run so I wanted something filling but not too heavy as I don't like running on a full stomach. I had run out of raspberries so I just had them with some maple syrup and a cup of tea. To make these pancakes, mash a banana and add one egg, one handful of oats, a teaspoon of cinnamon powder, any berries you have in the fridge and cook like normal pancakes in a griddle pan.

Lunch -Chickpea Burger
This is a new discovery for me which I pretty much made up as I went along. I had some leftover chickpeas in the fridge and wanted to make them into something more exciting! To make the burger I mashed up about 50g of chickpeas and added some grated courgette, red onion, salt, pepper, 1tbsp of olive oil and 1tbsp of flour to bind it together. I then shallow fried it for about 6 minutes and served it in a seeded wholemeal roll with some salad.

Afternoon Snack - Toasted Nori Sheets
I was hungry in the afternoon and remembered that I had picked up some nori sheets last week in Wholefoods so had them for my afternoon snack. I know that a lot of people don't like the taste but I love them and wish I had picked up some more!

Dinner - Chicken & Spicy Potatoes
For dinner I made quite a simple meal as I was going out. I placed the chicken in some grease-proof paper and bashed it with a rolling pin until it was thin and then grilled it with some herbs and oil. For the potatoes I cut them into cubes, added onion, garlic, paprika, salt and pepper and cooked them in the oven for about 20-25 minutes. I served it together with some broccoli and it was really tasty!

Autumn Crafts | Dried Fruit Garland

I've always seen this craft around Autumn/Winter time and thought that it looked really cosy and effective. I didn't realise until now how quick and easy it was to do at home! Whether you are decorating your house for a chic Halloween or starting to think about Christmas, this is the perfect craft for this time of year, read on to find out how to make an autumnal garland...

You Will Need
One Orange
One Apple
A Sharp Pencil

To Make
1) Slice the fruits and place on a baking tray. Cook on low for about one hour
2) Turn the oven off, leaving the fruits inside and leave for about another two hours for them to dry out
3) Make a hole in the top of the slice and thread the twine through, make sure to tie each one off as otherwise they will slip
4) Hang up around the house!

The Face London

Today Rosanna and I had the most fabulous day at The Face London photography studio!

My mum bought us a voucher to spend the day there - we had our hair, make-up and nails done, drank prosecco and were generally pampered! We then got to do an amazing photo-shoot. We were treated wonderfully and felt like actual supermodels - I can see why Kendall and Gigi love it so much!

We both received a free photo and were able to purchase some more - overall it was a really great experience and I would totally recommend it for a girly day out.

Here are some pics from our day...
