Healthy Skin After Sun Exposure

I'm sure many of us have been on holiday over the past few months or spent time at the beach. We all know the importance of wearing sunscreen whilst the weather is hot but what about when we return home? Looking after your skin not only keeps it healthy but can make your tan last longer too! Read on to find out what my favourite products are to use when I get back from holiday...

Gentle Face Wash
A gentle face wash is a must after sun exposure. Many of us use exfoliating washes which will not only rub away your tan but will also irritate skin. I love this Simple one and I also take the travel size on holiday with me to use instead of face wipes as they dry out quickly.

Hair Conditioning Treatment
My hair felt like straw when I got back from holiday thanks to a mix of sun exposure and too much time in the water! Dyed hair is so easy to ruin so I've spent the last two weeks using deep conditioners and oil and luckily, it's back to what it used to look like. Trips to the hairdressers are expensive so don't ruin it by not looking after your hair properly. I love the Elasticizer by Philip Kingsley and leave it on overnight.

Body Moisturiser
My skin always feels a bit dry after flights and so I always use lots of moisturiser. This one by Caudalie is one of my favourites. It smells amazing and is just about small enough to pop into your handbag.

Milk Body Wash
I was military in putting on sunscreen this year so luckily I didn't get burnt but if you did, a milk based gel or lotion is your best friend. It soothes the skin, creates a layer of protein and reduces the risk of peeling. Rituals is a fabulous skincare brand and this shower gel is one of their best products.

Bronzer & Highlighter
A good bronzer and highlighter will enhance your tan and make you glow even more. I've mentioned this duo from Bourjois many times and it still remains one of my makeup bag staples.

A Windswept Wedding

Yesterday I went to my cousin's wedding in the lovely village of Bradfield in Essex. It was an amazing day - the venue was stunning, the food was fab and the bride wore Dolce and Gabbana! It was however very windy - but as it wasn't cold and it didn't rain, I'd call it a success!

I recycled my graduation outfit since I love it so much...I also knew the bride would be wearing fuchsia and figured it was a good opportunity to wear white to a wedding for once!

Here's a few pics from the day...

Zucchini Parmesan Crisps

Today I wanted to share my recipe for Zucchini Parmesan Crisps. They are so tasty and really easy to make. I've seen loads of similar recipes that involve frying and I didn't want to do that so I baked these in the oven and they taste just as good and they don't have any extra oil. Read on to check out the recipe...

Olive Oil
1 Courgette
50g of Grated Parmesan
50g of Fine Breadcrumbs

1) Thinly slice the courgette and leave on absorbent paper towels for about 30 minutes to dry them out
2) Cover the slices in olive oil and in a separate bowl, mix the other ingredients together and cover the oiled courgettes in the mixture
3) Bake at 220 for around 15-20 minutes or until golden brown
4) Leave to cool for around 5 minutes before eating

Summer By The Sea

Brighton is one of my favourite places to visit and when I heard that the weather was going to be good yesterday, I hopped on a train and spent the day there...

Jamie's Italian in Brighton is one of my favourite restaurants and I opted for the Fritto Misto, Pasta Alla Norma and then a brownie for dessert. I also went to Boho Gelato for the first time and had the Peanut Butter sorbet which tasted incredible!
I didn't really do much shopping as the weather was lovely but I did pop into The Bluebird Tea Co to check out their new tea ranges and top up my collection!

Croatia 2016

Hi everyone! I've just got back from a holiday to Croatia with my sister and as it was so beautiful I thought I would share some of the pictures and tips I picked up. We visited Split and then Dubrovnik so carry on reading to check out what we did...

Things To Do

What We Did
In both places, we made sure that we were by a beach so we could spend the morning by the sea. In the afternoon we did some sightseeing and lots of eating! Our favourite places to visit were...

Bacvice Beach (Split)
Diocletian's Palace (Split)
Old Town Walls (Dubrovnik)
Game Of Thrones Locations (Everywhere!)

What To Eat

What We Ate
The food selection in Croatia is typically Mediterranean. The seafood is fresh and there are also plenty of local markets around where you can pick up fruit and vegetables. Our favourite places were...

Ice Cream from Luka (Split)
Pizza from Bakra (Split)
Seafood from Bistro Toc (Split)
Salads from Mea Culpa (Dubrovnik)
Pasta from Baracuda (Dubrovnik)
Evening Drinks from Buza Bar (Dubrovnik)

Scrub Love

I've tried lots of sugar scrubs in the past but when Scrub Love asked me if I'd ever tried a coffee scrub before I had to admit that I hadn't. I don't know why I've never tried one before and after some research into them I couldn't believe that I'd waited so long! It improves your skin texture, helps circulation and smells incredible so what's not to love?

I was sent the Mint Temptation scrub and as I'd just got back from holiday I thought I would give it a try. (Quick note, I used this in the bath and I'd recommend not doing that as there was a lot of cleaning up to do afterwards!) I really loved the mix of coffee and peppermint as it left my skin feeling soft but also fresh and the scent lasted all day which I was really impressed with. The packaging is also super-cute and would brighten up any bathroom.

Scrub Love is also 100% natural, Fair-Trade and Rainforest-Alliance Approved and you can check out their full range of products here

Peach & Raspberry Ice Lollies

I made these the other day and they tasted so good that I thought I would share them. They're super easy to make, really cooling if it's hot weather - and healthy too! Read on to check out how I made them...

You Will Need
An Ice Lolly Mould
Lolly Sticks
Peach Juice

To Make
1) Pour the peach juice about halfway into the ice lolly moulds, add a few of the raspberries and freeze for around 45-60 minutes until slightly frozen.
2) Insert the lolly sticks, top up the remainder of the moulds with juice and raspberries and freeze until completely set.
3) Once the ice lollies have frozen, place the moulds in a basin of hot water fro 30 seconds and they should come out easily!
